Pre-Test
System:
We recommend that you pre-test
your system before drilling a hole for the camera and
mounting the monitor or adapter box. Locate the fuse
box and temporarily connect the red and black wires
of the monitor lead or adapter box. With the key on
(vehicle not started) use a test light and find a suitable
12 volt power source in the fuse box. Leave ignition
off for installation. Connect red wire (power) to source
found at fuse box. Connect black wire (ground) to suitable
nearby ground.
For monitor systems, plug the monitor
into the "Y" cable and plug the camera into
the other end of the "Y" cable. NOTE: the
single end of the "Y" cable must be connected
to the monitor. The camera may be connected to either
one of the other ends of the "Y" cable (see
diagram).

Turn ignition key to on position
(so the fuse circuit you connected to will have power),
then turn on the monitor, and observe the picture on
screen. 3.5" monitor is turned on by opening the monitor,
5.6" and 7" monitors are turned on by pushing the power
switch. If no image is present on the monitor check
which camera position is selected. On the 3.5" monitor,
camera selection is made with a slide switch on the
side of the case, change slide switch to other position.
For the 5.6" and 7" monitors select the video signal
using the push buttons under the arrow keys (<>). This
is also a good time to test location for camera mounting
position by holding camera in approximate location while
viewing results on the monitor (remember to hold the
camera as it will be when mounted - pointing down and
out at 45° angle). When finished testing, turn off
the monitor and ignition.
For the adapter kit, plug the 20' cable
into the adapter and the other end to the camera. Next
connect the 6' RCA cable to the adapter box and the
other end to the composite video input for your monitor
(see diagram).

Turn ignition key to on position
(so the fuse circuit you connected to will have power),
then turn on the monitor, and select the composite video
input to be displayed. On the adapter box switch the
on/off switch to the on position (this turns on the
camera) and observe the picture on screen. This is also
a good time to test location for camera mounting position
by holding camera in approximate location while viewing
results on the monitor (remember to hold the camera
as it will be when mounted - pointing down and out at
45° angle). When finished testing, turn off the
adapter, your monitor, and ignition.
